One-hand point of sale on phones

Register controls are at least 44 pixels on phones and tablets, with a number pad for quantity, cash, discount, and price. Cart lines swipe to remove or adjust, long-press opens variants, and pay stays in the thumb zone. Desktop looks the same.

New

  • Tap targets on the register, held tickets, sales rows, and shift rows are at least 44 pixels on phones and tablets. Desktop sizes stay as they were.
  • A number pad sets quantity, cash tendered, discount, and a line price override. A cash sale can finish from the pad without the system keyboard.

Improved

  • Swipe a cart line toward the trailing edge to remove it, or toward the leading edge for a note or discount. Long-press opens variants. Directions flip in Arabic.
  • The register vibrates on add, error, and pay when the device allows it. Primary pay actions sit in the lower thumb zone so a simple sale is four taps or fewer.
